Huskies Open League Play Thursday vs. North Carolina A&T

BOSTON – The Northeastern men's basketball team returns to Matthews Arena for the start of conference play on Thursday night as the Huskies host North Carolina A&T at 7 p.m. on NESN and FloHoops.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW

1. THE SERIES WITH NORTH CAROLINA A&T - The Huskies and Aggies are meeting for the first time in series history, one of four opponents that Northeastern will play for the first time ever (Georgia Tech, UIC, Hampton). Additionally, Northeastern is 12-5 all-time in CAA openers, including victories in nine of the last 10 seasons.

2. TURNER COLLECTS CAA HONORS - After putting up 12 points to help Northeastern pick up a hard-fought win at Davidson, Huskies freshman Jared Turner was named the CAA Co-Rookie of the Week on Monday. Turner added three rebounds and two assists in his second career start as Northeastern wrapped up non-league play and earned its first true road win since February 2021. The rookie was 4-for-5 shooting including 3-for-4 from distance for his second-straight double-figure scoring output and third in his last five games.

3. GETTING HOT - The Huskies closed out non-conference play with wins in three of their last four games, and had their two best shooting performances to date last week. On Dec. 18 at UIC, Northeastern opened the game 9-of-9 from the floor before finishing 47% overall (27-of-58), and followed it up with a 28-of-59 (47.5% afternoon at Davidson.
