Delmo F. Alberghini was elected to the Hall of Fame for his accomplishments in the sport of track.

Alberghini, a world class sprinter, held most all Northeastern and New England collegiate and amateur hurdles records through the 1940's. In 1943, he won the New England AAU 50-yard low hurdles in record time, set a world record for the 70-yard low hurdles, and took second in the IC4A 60-yard hurdles in the indoor season.

Outdoors he won the New England collegiate, and AAU 220 low hurdles. After two years in World War II, Alberghini returned to Northeastern in 1947 to regain all his records and championships, winning the New England AAU low and high 50-yard hurdles, indoors, and both the New England AAU and collegiate 220 high and low hurdles.
