Job E. Fuchs was elected to the Hall of Fame for his many contributions to the overall athletic program in the area of health maintenance.
As Director of the Lane Health Center since 1975, Fuchs has been responsible for aiding the physical welfare of all members of the Northeastern University Community, including male and female varsity athletes. Dr. Fuchs has been the ultimate sideline authority on matters of corporeal priority since '75, and conspicuous by his absence at most Northeastern athletic events since joining the University Health Service in 1958. Dr. Fuchs was on duty for every home and away football contest, where his judgment and skill in an arena of acute physical contact is indispensable. Many a Northeastern football player rocked with a serious injury has paid tribute years later to the immediate care provided at the scene of the collision by Fuchs.
Concerning the area of Pulmonary Physiology, Fuchs is particularly well-versed and is the author of seven various medical articles dealing with the subject. Fuchs was presented with an Honorary Doctor of Humanities in 1985 at Northeastern University. Undoubtedly one of Fuchs' major labors of love in the doctor business was for over 30 years college athletics at Northeastern University. He was highly regarded as a tireless and concerned prowler of the sidelines by his peers, as well as by athletic trainers and coaches at Northeastern.
