John B. Flora was elected to the Hall of Fame for his accomplishments in the sports of cross country, indoor track and outdoor track.

Flora helped the Huskies dominate New England track and field in the second half of the 1970's. A three time All American, Flora was the first to cross the finish line as a sophomore in the autumn of 1975, leading Northeastern to its first IC4A cross country championship. Individually, he added the Greater Boston cross country championship to his resume that season. As a junior, he shattered former Olympian Steve Prefontaine's course record at Franklin Park, clocking a 23:30 in the GBC's. He became Northeastern first ever back-to-back cross country All American. As a senior, he strung together three straight GBC championships. Indoors, he won the GBC two mile championship, setting the stage for a dramatic, career closing performance outdoors at Penn. With the challenge of becoming one of three collegians ever to win consecutive 10,000 meter IC4A outdoor titles, Flora answered the challenge.
