John P. McCarron was elected to the Hall of Fame for his accomplishments in track and field and contributions to Northeastern athletics as a University registrar and varsity club supporter.
McCarron earned four varsity letters in track, and in 1958 received the Alumni Award as Northeastern's Most Valuable Performer in track and field. He ran and jumped on highly successful Husky squads, igniting a fine collegiate career with the Most Improved Performer Award for the 1955-56 season.
A Cambridge native and longtime resident of Woburn, Mass., McCarron has given his adult life to his two families, one being the University. He and his wife, Ruth have four adult children, Gail, Jennifer, Bruce and Brian.
