Kelly Dyer was elected to the Hall of Fame for her accomplishments in the sport of ice hockey.
Dyer, a goaltender, strung together an amazing 47-6-2 record in net for the women's varsity squad. With Dyer between the pipes, Northeastern amassed a 48-3-1 record over her junior and senior season, capturing two ECAC titles. In high school at Acton-Boxboro in Mass., she was a backup to three-time National Hockey League all-star Tom Barasso. After a year at New Hampton Prep, where she played forward on the women's team and goalie for the men's, Dyer took her talents to Northeastern. In addition to the two consecutive ECAC crowns, Dyer also paved the way to four consecutive Beanpot Championships. Dyer, who had a career 2.04 goals against average, was the team's MVP and captain her final two years. After NU, Dyer continued playing hockey at the international level. She started in goal for the United States National Team that earned a silver medal in the World Games in 1990. She was also in net in 1992, when the U.S. again took home the silver medal.
