Lynn Arturi-Chiavaro was inducted into the Hall of Fame for her accomplishments in the sports of basketball and lacrosse.

Chiavaro staked a claim as one of the greatest all-around athletes to attend Northeastern, and was particularly adept at playing the game of basketball. She earned basketball letters from 1973 through 1976 when she captained the squad. She also won lacrosse letters in 1974, '76 and '77, the year after her basketball eligibility had expired. She also excelled in the club sports of volleyball, softball and waterpolo.

Northeastern men's coach at the time Chiavaro was playing, Jim Calhoun, once rated Chiavaro one of the best shooters he'd ever laid eyes on. NU women's Athletic Director at the time Jeanne Rowlands considered her one of the college game's fundamentally complete players. In 1976, she captained the Huskies and led them in just about every statistical category. She scored 30 points against Bridgewater State, an opponent Northeastern had not defeated in over four years. For her senior season in basketball, she was named the Winter Sports Most Valuable Player on Huntington Avenue. After Northeastern, she had no intentions of letting up. After a two-year stint teaching and coaching at the secondary school level, Chiavaro was drafted by the New York Stars of the bereaved Women's Professional Basketball League. Unfortunately for Chiavaro, the league folded in 1981. But, she moved back into a successful coaching career. She coached as an assistant at Iona College in 1981 and '82 and then headed to the very successful program at West Point.
