Richard A. Ollen was elected to the Hall of Fame for his accomplishments in the sport of track.

Ollen was a member of the cross-country team from 1950-54 and the track squad from 1951-55. He captained the freshman harriers in 1950 and the varsity cross-country team in 1953. He was elected leader of the track team in 1954. Ollen won the Alumni Track Trophy in 1954 and was elected Northeastern University Athlete of the Year during that campaign. He was named to the NU Track Club Hall of Fame in 1969. A Dean's list student his entire career at Northeastern, Ollen went on to earn an MBA in 1957 from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. One of the great milers of his day, he was the IC4A outdoor and indoor mile champion during his senior year at Northeastern and set the record for the New England mile that season. Ollen was fourth in the 1954 NCAA mile and won the outdoor mile and the indoor 1000 yard run at the New England AAU championship that year. He set school records in the mile, 1000-yard run and the freshman 800-yard run.

Ollen is vice -president of the Government Employees Insurance Company and past director of Massachusetts Company Distributor Inc., the Fiduciary Investment Company and TMC Insurance Agency. He is a past member of the Board of Governors of the International Association of Financial Planners, the Federal Club and the Touchdown Club.
