William H. Seabury was elected to the Hall of Fame for his accomplishments in the sport of ice hockey.
Seabury was one of Eastern college hockey's most explosive forwards in the sixties, and as a junior in 1964-65, he paced the Huskies in scoring with 26 goals and led them to the ECAC Holiday Festival Championship at Madison Square Garden. Over a three year varsity career, Seabury filed away 114 points on 65 goals, which ranked fourth when he graduated on Northeastern's all time list, and currently he sits at number 30. He helped produce two of Northeastern's finest ice campaigns with prolific scoring performances as a junior and senior. He followed his 26 goals season of 1964-65 with 25 goals in the 1965-66 season, as the Huskies finished 18-10-0 and 16-12-1 respectively.
One of Seabury's greatest athletic moments came in the 1965 Holiday Festival in New York. Seabury turned the hat trick in the championship game as the Huskies won 4-1. Northeastern defeated St. Lawrence, Providence and Brown for a title that earned them new found prestige in Division I collegiate hockey. An explosive player, Seabury once scored three goals in one period versus Colgate.
There was still hockey to be played after Northeastern for Seabury. He was elected to represent the United States in the Kennedy Memorial Games at Lake Placid, New York. He also skated many years for the Concord EasternOlympics, and was the MVP for that team in 1970. Seabury also kept the competitive fires burning on the baseball diamonds as well, starring in the infield for some seven years in the Inter City League.
