Chris Beston scored in the 84th minute to force overtime in Northeastern's game at Albany Wednesday, but the Great Danes won it 13 minutes into the extra session on a penalty kick.

The Huskies were called for a foul in the box during the 103rd minute, setting up Nick Southworth's game-winning penalty kick. Southworth beat NU keeper Allan Lewis to his lower left. Lewis finished with four saves.

NU was attempting to open 3-0 for the first time in school history.

Albany scored just four minutes into the game on a Jon Brainard 20-yard chip over Lewis. The Danes took the 1-0 edge into intermission. Albany made it 2-0 in the 57th minute, but the Huskies rallied to force OT.

Freshman Peter Mosconi tallied his second goal of the year to cut the deficit in half on an assist from Blair Carroll. Beston then netted the tying goal with less than six minutes left in regulation off a corner kick from Anders Hoyem.
