Dartmouth 2, Northeastern 0

HANOVER, N.H - Scott Darci and Juan Romera each notched second-half goals as the Dartmouth College men's soccer team shutout Northeastern, 2-0, Wednesday at Chase Field. The win snaps a five-game losing streak for the Big Green, who improve to 3-5 overall, while Northeastern has its four-game winning streak snapped to fall to 8-4.

Darci put the Big Green on the board at the 48:53 mark when he took a deflected pass from Patrick White, and lofted a shot into the right corner of the goal for his second goal of the season. The Big Green added another goal in the 80th minute to take a 2-0 lead. Darci dribbled the ball down the left side before spinning back towards the middle of the field where he found a cutting Romera, who headed a shot past a diving Allan Lewis. The goal was Romera's second of the season.

The game was played mostly on the Dartmouth side of the field as the Big Green outshot the Huskies, 14-5. Dartmouth had two outstanding scoring chances in the first half when Matt LaBarre blasted a shot from 10 yards out that went right into the hands of keeper Allan Lewis at the 30:23 mark. Oliver Harker-Smith missed an opportunity to notch his first career goal when he one-timed a shot that Lewis deflected away at 35:40. Ben Gebre-Medhin recorded his third shutout of the season and 12th of his career, notching two saves.
