Northeastern lost a key America East game at Hartford 4-0 on Sunday night in West Hartford. Northeastern dropped to 10-6 overall and 6-3 in the America East with the loss, while Hartford improved to 10-5-2 overall and 6-2-1 in the tight conference standings.
The Hawks got two goals each from Marcin Just and Easton Wilson. Just got the Hawks on the board quickly in the first half, taking a pass from Alex Carvalho and scoring at the 8:08 mark. Wilson scored the first of his two goals off a rebound of a shot by Alon Lubezky. His second goal came at the 32:48 mark and gave Hartford a 3-0 lead at halftime.
Just scored his second goal just 3:23 into the second half off a missed shot by Asaf Lubezky. Lubezky's shot hit the crossbar and Just put back the rebound for his second goal of game.
Northeastern's best chance to score came on a Antha Kirkopolous penalty kick after a Hartford intnetional handball in the box. The penalty kick hit the goalpost and sailed wide. Chris Doyle made six saves in net for his 10th win of the season and his fifth via the shutout.
