RALEIGH, N.C. - The Huskies got on the board early in their season-opener Saturday at the N.C. State Wolfpack Tournament in Raleigh, N.C. Senior midfielder Anders Hoyem scored six minutes into the game on an open shot from six yards out to give NU the early 1-0 lead. Both teams went scoreless the remainder of the first half, but the Huskies struck again early on in the second. Newcomer Trond Olsen netted the first goal of his NU career in the 62nd minute off a rebound from a corner kick to put the Huskies ahead 2-0. Despite being outshot 10-8 and giving up six corners, NU was able to hold the Wolfpack scoreless the entire 90 minutes to come away with the 2-0 victory. Goalkeeper Allan Lewis recorded four saves in the shutout. NU will close out the two-day Wolfpack Tournament Sunday at 3:30 p.m. when they face the 13th ranked Duke Blue Devils.
