Box Score The Huskies fell to America East rival Boston University on Saturday night, 4-2, at Nickerson Field.
Sophomore midfielder Sedrick Chin and freshman forward Anders Ostli each had a goal and an assist to lead the Boston University men's soccer team, improving its record to 7-5-1 overall and 2-0-1 in the conference. With the loss, Northeastern falls to 5-5-3 overall and 2-2-1 in America East play.
Senior midfielder Andrew Dorman sparked the Terriers first major scoring opportunity in the 19th minute of play. Racing down the left side of the feed, Dorman sent a cross into the box that Ostli redirected into the goal at 18:30.
In a similar play on the opposite side of the field, Chin sent a low cross into the box that Dorman fired into the goal at 30:38.
Northeastern drew the deficit to 2-1 as Oumar Thiam scored off a rebound of a shot by Atha Kirkopoulos at 31:38. Early in the second, Kirkopoulos knotted the game at 2-2 with a goal at 54:16.
Looking to pull ahead, Ostli sent a shot in the direction of the goal in the 60th minute. Sophomore midfielder Jamie Johnson collected the rebound and fired a shot back at the Northeastern goal. A Husky defender got a piece of the shot, but the ball continued past Northeastern goalkeeper Sergio Saccoccio and into the net for the game-winner at 59:14.
Off a long pass from junior midfielder Federico Bianchi, Chin passed two Husky defenders and added an insurance goal at 83:49.
Sophomore goalkeeper Chad Comroe earned the win for the Terriers, making two saves. Saccoccio made four saves in the loss for Northeastern.
The Huskies return to action on Wednesday when they host conference rival Maine at 3 p.m. on Parsons Field.
