Box Score The Northeastern men's soccer team opened the season with a 2-0 loss to 22nd-ranked Virginia Tech at the JMU/Ramada Inn Invitational in Harrisonburg, Va.
The Hokies' Bailey Allman headed in the game's first goal off a free kick by David Brown at the 34:58 mark of the first half.
Kevin Edwards added some insurance 10 minutes into the second half, finding the back of the net from six yards out.
The Hokies (1-1-0) outshot the Huskies, 22-6. Junior goalkeeper Sergio Saccoccio had 10 saves on the night.
The Huskies (0-1-0) will take on tournament host James Madison at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 5.
