Box Score Northeastern lost to third-ranked Old Dominion 1-0 down in Virginia on Friday night. Senior keeper Sergio Saccoccio became NU's all-time saves leader with a total of 298.
Monarch freshman midfielder Trevor Banks scored the game-winner in the 44th minute rifling a shot from 18-yards out in the upper left corner of the net.
NU had two quality shots that were saved in the 88th minute. The Huskies were out shot 21 to six.
Freshman defensemen Andrew Konopelsky and sophomore forward Jonathan Show were each given yellow cards while Old Dominion's Banks received the only Monarch yellow card.
Saccoccio needed only five saves to break the record. He made 12 stops on the night.
Saccoccio who passed former Husky Andrew Boyea who had 290 career saves now is the NU all-time leader in career saves and career minutes played.
The Huskies travel to Williamsburg, VA to play William & Mary on Sunday, Oct 16. at 1 p.m.
