Box Score The Northeastern men's soccer team lost, 1-0, to Virginia Commonwealth in Richmond, Va. Friday night. The Huskies dropped to 3-7-6 overall and 2-2-5 in the CAA.
The Rams improved their record to 6-8-2 overall and 4-2-2 in the conference.
The game went scoreless in the first half with Northeastern conjuring up two shots that went high, while VCU managed to get two on net. Senior NU keeper Sergio Saccoccio saved both.
Four minutes into the second half the Ram's took the lead on a Pat Viray goal. Viray rifled a shot from five-yards out. Evan Morris was credited with the assist.
NU was out shot 10-5 and 5-1 on net. Viray was given a yellow card in the 8th minute and Husky defenseman Ray Dinizio received a yellow in the 19th minute of the match .
The Huskies try to keep their playoff hopes alive at James Madison on Sunday, Oct. 30. The match starts at 1 p.m.
