Box Score The Northeastern men's soccer team lost a hard-fought game against former America East rival, New Hampshire, 1-0, this afternoon at Parsons Field. The Huskies dropped their overall record to 1-5-1 overall.
UNH jumped on top by one 21 minutes in when senior co-captain Eric Masi cleaned up a blocked free kick by junior Pedro Braz. Masi scored his team-leading fourth goal of the season. A few minutes later NU sophomore Greg Kilkenny ripped a shot that went slightly wide.
The Huskies finished the half with a missed opportunity when Wildcat keeper Brian Levey saved sophomore Ray Dinizio's shot off a Daryl Brack free kick with under two minutes in the half.
The second half was even with few shots taken. A pair of Husky freshman, Ben Levy and Nick Patrikis put some pressure towards the UNH in the 70th minute but failed to get a shot off.
UNH keeper Levey recorded his seventh shutout off the season. The Wildcats continued their stingy defense allowing only two goals in nine games.
NU opens its conference slate down in Delaware on Friday, Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. The following Sunday, Oct. 2, at 1 p.m. is the Huskies' conference home opener against Drexel.
