Box Score The men's soccer team tied with Delaware, 0-0, Friday, Sept. 30, ending its four game losing streak. Senior keeper Sergio Saccoccio recorded his third shutout of the season.
Neither team was able to find its offensive rhythm with only 19 shots combined. NU had a golden opportunity towards the end of the first half when sophomore Ray Dinizio's shot went barely wide, hitting the post.
In overtime, Delaware had the best chance of winning when an all-alone Sobhan Tadjalli broke on Saccoccio, but his shot was blocked and the follow-up was cleared away by Northeastern defenders.
Sophomore forward Greg Kilkenny led NU with four shots. Delaware and Northeastern had three shots on a goal a piece.
The game consisted of eight yellows cards and 25 fouls combined. Each team also had three corner chances each.
The Huskies open their CAA home slate at Parsons Field on Sunday, Oct. 2 at 1 p.m. against Drexel.
