Box Score The men's soccer team fell to William & Mary in overtime on Sunday by a score of 2-1 in WIlliamsburg, VA.
William & Mary struck first about 20 minutes into the game, when Thomas Price stole the ball from the Husky defense inside the box and fired it into the net.
Four minutes into the second half Northeastern evened the score when Greg Kilkenny took a shot that Tribe goalkeeper Andrew McAdams blocked, but Ahmed Talaat headed in the loose ball for his team-leading fourth goal of the season. Greg Kilkenny picked up his fifth assist of the season on the play.
The rest of the second half went scoreless, but William & Mary ended the game just a minute and a half into the overtime period. Doug Ernst had his shot blocked but quickly recovered it, sending it into the lower-right part of the goal past Northeastern goalkeeper Mahmoud Talaat.
Northeastern falls to 2-7 while William & Mary improves to 5-4-2. The Huskies held the advantage on the corners, 4-1, and out shot the Tribe 13-10.
Northeastern will return to action this Friday against UNC Wilmington at Parsons Field at 6 p.m.
