The Huskies completed their preseason schedule with a hard fought 0-0 tie against Boston College on Saturday.
Both teams had opportunities to score the decisive goal, but it was Northeastern that controlled the play in what was an intense and highly competitive contest.
The Huskies outshot the Eagles 12-8, with senior
Mike Kennedy leading the charge. Starting in midfield, Kennedy recorded four shots in the game as he continued to have a strong preseason, managing to get two of those strikes on target.
In addition to controlling the offensive play, Northeastern continued its strong play on defense, posting a second consecutive clean sheet with sophomore
Conner Alexander putting in a solid showing on the back line, building on his strong spring performances.
The Huskies were also given a strong performance in goal from
Jacob Aduama. The redshirt freshman did not waste his chance to make an impression, making three saves and playing a full 90 minutes as he looks to compete for playing time during the regular season.
Northeastern's good showing comes only a few days after a 2-0 exhibition win over Hartford. The high-quality performance despite the short rest was a fact not lost on the coaching staff.
Said assistant coach
Adam Pfeifer, “It will be interesting to see how well the guys play when they are fully rested heading into Providence.”
The Huskies open their season on the road on Friday, Aug 26 at 1 p.m. when they take on the Friars of Providence College.
