Welcome to Meet The Huskies, an in-depth look at the Northeastern women's ice hockey team. Each week, GoNU.com will feature one student-athlete from the women's ice hockey squad and find out about their lives on and off the ice. This week, we meet junior forward Katie MacSorley from Stratford, Ontario.

WHY NORTHEASTERN?
The education, the city and the surroundings

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PREGAME MEAL?
A home made meal, pasta

WHAT PLAYER DO YOU MODEL YOUR GAME AFTER AND WHY?
Myself, I don't really have a player

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE HOCKEY MEMORY?
Winning the Beanpot as well as first in the league last year.

THREE WORDS I WOULD USE TO DESCRIBE MYSELF AS A HOCKEY PLAYER:
• Competitive
• Hard working
• Team player

WHY DO YOU WEAR YOUR JERSEY NUMBER?
Goes back to my first game of house league boys hockey: I came over to the locker room from the woman's room and the only jersey left for me was number 3. Got it every single year since.

WHAT HAS BEEN THE MOST CHALLENGING THING ABOUT COLLEGE SO FAR?
Staying motivated when things are tough and stressful

MY TEAMMATES WOULD DESCRIBE ME AS:
A leader, friendly, outgoing

I CAN'T GO ON A ROAD TRIP WITHOUT:
Hockey equipment

I HOPE DO TO THIS BEFORE GRADUATION:
Leave northeastern with a feeling of accomplishment and memories and friendships that will stay with me the rest of my life.

MacSorley and the Huskies will host Team Russia in an exhibition contest on Saturday night at Matthews Arena.
