PHILADELPHIA – Sophomore goalkeeper Dylan Faber made five saves to help the Northeastern men's soccer team (5-4-3, 2-0-1) pick up a point in the CAA standings with a scoreless draw at Drexel on Saturday afternoon.

NU outshot the Dragons 17-14 in the match, including an 11-5 mark in the first half. Conner Alexander led all players with five shots, while Terence Carter and Dante Marini contributed four apiece. Northeastern also generated eight corners to the Dragons' four.

The Huskies controlled the pace of play for much of the first half, outchancing the Dragons and earning several legitimate scoring chances on goal. NU attempted to use the size of senior Alexander in the box with multiple header bids, including one in the fifth minute that Alexander sent wide.

Marini nearly gave Northeastern a 1-0 edge in the 16th minute when he teed up a shot from about 20 yards out, but the chance sailed over the crossbar.

The Huskies used some transition play to create another scoring opportunity two minutes later when Ambry Moss sent a crisp pass up to Carter streaking down the left side. Carter then tried to send the ball into the box, but it was blocked. On the ensuing corner, Robbie Schallmo entered the ball into the box for another header from Alexander that went wide.

Drexel's best chance of the half came in the 26th minute when Jared Girard got hold of the ball on the right side and fired a shot towards goal, but the bid went left of the cage. Alexander created another chance for himself at the other end of the field two minutes later when he tried to pick the lower left corner, but Afflerbach was able to get a hand on it and send it out of play.

The second half saw both teams trade scoring chances, but neither squad could net the go-ahead goal. Faber made two saves in the second half, while Afflerbach had one stop.

In extra time, 3-2 held a slight 3-2 edge in shots, but could not net the game-winner. NU also earned the only two corners of overtime.

The Huskies will be back in action on Wednesday when Northeastern hosts Delaware in a 6 p.m. CAA match on Parsons Field.
