BOSTON – Candace Young swept the diving competition for the second time through Northeastern's first two meets of the season and the Huskies came away with 12 second-place finishes, but the swimming and diving team came up just short in a Saturday-afternoon meet at New Hampshire, 167-128.

Young gave NU (1-1) 18 team points when she won both the 1-meter dive (271.20) and the 3-meter dive (262.45). The senior's performance in the early going of the year earned her a spot in the NCAA Zone Diving Championships at the end of the season.

Saturday's meet opened with a tight finish in the 200-yard medley relay. The Huskies' Anna Schegoleva, Julia Alvarez, Addison Koelle and Rachel Green finished in second with a time of 1:47.88, just .08 seconds behind the Wildcats.

Colleen McCormack placed second in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:32.26), while Julia Sepulveda (1:54.89) and Megan Foran (1:55.04) finished second and third, respectively, in the 200 freestyle. Schegoleva finished second in the 100 backstroke (58.01) and Alvarez also placed second in the 100 breaststroke (1:07.01).
