Welcome to Meet The Huskies, an in-depth look at the Northeastern women's ice hockey team. Each week, GoNU.com will feature one student-athlete from the women's ice hockey squad and find out about their lives on and off the ice. This week, we meet senior forward Casey Pickett from Wilmington, Mass.

WHY NORTHEASTERN?
I loved the campus. We're in the heart of the city but campus doesn't feel like we're in the city at all. We have everything at our fingertips. I also loved the idea of being close to home. My parents are at almost every game and that means the world to me.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PREGAME MEAL?
Two fried eggs with ketchup, home fries, two sausage links, and a sesame seed bagel with butter. Also 2/3 of a Fundip packet, including the blue and red sugar and one stick.

WHAT PLAYER DO YOU MODEL YOUR GAME AFTER AND WHY?
A combination of Brittany Esposito and Maggie DiMasi.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE HOCKEY MEMORY?
Winning the 2012 Beanpot!

THREE WORDS I WOULD USE TO DESCRIBE MYSELF AS A HOCKEY PLAYER:
• Playmaker
• Hard-working
• Committed

WHY DO YOU WEAR YOUR JERSEY NUMBER?
When I started playing I thought it was really cool to be number 14 because my birthday is Dec. 14th… cool story, uh?

WHAT HAS BEEN THE MOST CHALLENGING THING ABOUT COLLEGE SO FAR?
Finding time to be a normal college student

MY TEAMMATES WOULD DESCRIBE ME AS:
Soft-spoken…. awkward? And hunchbacked.

I CAN'T GO ON A ROAD TRIP WITHOUT:
Fundip, headphones and Ipod

I HOPE DO TO THIS BEFORE GRADUATION:
Win a Hockey East championship (regular season and tournament)
Win another Beanpot
Go to NCAAs

Pickett and the Huskies will be back in action this weekend when Northeastern travels to Orono, Maine for a two-game set with the Black Bears, beginning Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.
