CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Northeastern men's soccer team (2-6-0) jumped out to a 2-0 advantage midway through the second half before Harvard (4-3-0) scored three times in the final 19 minutes of regulation to knock off the Huskies on Tuesday night at Soldiers Field, 3-2.

Brad Fountain and Frantzdy Pierrot both scored for the Huskies, while Jonathan Thuresson had six saves in goal. Harvard received goals from three different scorers, including Andrew Chang's game-winner from 20 yards out with 43.1 seconds remaining in regulation. Evan Mendez had six stops in goal.

The Huskies came out strong in the first half, controlling the pace of play and outshooting 10-8. Donovan Fayd'Herbe de Maudave got things started for NU with their opening bid of the night on a buzzing shot from 20 yards out that went just wide. Minutes later, Pierrot nearly put Northeastern on top when he centered the ball across the box to Fayd'Herbe de Maudave at the left post, but his shot went wide.

At the other end, Thuresson was tested for the first time in the 12th minute when Tim Schmoll fired a shot intended for the lower right corner, but Thuresson was able to get a hand on it.

NU broke through in the 15th minute when Fountain buried his third goal of the season, taking a feed from 20 yards out and bending a shot up and over Mendez to give the Huskies an early lead.

The Crimson started to tilt the field late in the half with a few shots on Thuresson, including a header from Connor McCarthy with 8:30 to play in the half, but Thuresson was there to make the save.

Harvard held possession for much of the second half in search of the equalizer, but the Northeastern defense held its ground with several shot blocks while limiting the Crimson chances in the box. Harvard was awarded a free kick at the right side of the box from 10 yards out, and the NU defense was able to get a foot on the entry pass and clear the ball out of danger.

The Huskies went up 2-0 with less than 20 minutes to play in regulation as Pierrot netted his second of the season. After Pierrot kept the ball in play with a strong effort on the sideline to pass to Christian McKenna, McKeena ran the ball downfield before returning the ball to Pierrot in the box. Pierrot then fired a shot off the leg of a Harvard defender and past Mendez.

The Crimson brought the match back to one minutes later when Andrew Wheeler-Omiunu notched his second of the season. With traffic in the box in front of Thuresson, Matt Sheeleigh sent the ball in to Wheeler-Omiunu, who sent a header into the left of the net to make it a 2-1 game.

Harvard leveled the score at two with 3:19 left in the second half as Dan Smith received a feed from Christian Sady and directed a header into the ride of the cage to make it 2-2.

The Crimson completed the comeback in the game's final moments as Chang buried a shot past Thuresson from the top of the box off a failed clear from Northeastern.

The Huskies will be back in action on Sunday when Northeastern travels to Long Island to take on Stony Brook at 4 p.m. For complete coverage of Northeastern and Northeastern soccer, follow us on Facebook (Northeastern & Northeastern Men's Soccer) and Twitter (@GoNUathletics & @GoNUmsoccer).
