Paige Savage posted her first collegiate two-goal game and junior netminder
Sarah Foss made 23 saves to lead the No. 7/8 Northeastern women's hockey team (12-4-1, 8-2-0 WHEA) to a 5-1 win at Vermont (3-14-0, 3-6-0 WHEA) on Friday at Gutterson Fieldhouse.
Senior
Kendall Coyne scored her 113th career goal to tie Hilary Witt as the program's all-time leading goal scorer, and added an assist for her 133rd career point in Hockey East play, tying Kelli Stack's all-time record. Coyne's first-period goal was also her 200th career point as she joined Witt as the only two players in program history to reach 200 points.Â

Halle Silva registered her first collegiate two-assist game.Â
Goal Recaps• Coyne tied Hilary Witt with her 113th career goal (and 200th career point) to put Northeastern ahead 1-0 at the 12:57 mark of the first period. On a power play, sophomore
Denisa Krizova tossed a shot at the cage for Coyne to redirect home at the left of the net.Â
• Masters doubled the lead 2:03 into the second period. After Silva won an offensive-zone faceoff, Masters scooped up the puck and wristed a shot by Vermont netminder Molly Depew (12 saves) from the top of the left circle.Â
• The Huskies made it 3-0 just over three minutes later when Coyne gained the Vermont zone and dropped a soft pass back to Savage for a rip inside the left post at 5:22 of the second stanza.
• Savage notched her first collegiate two-goal game when she made it 4-0 at 9:52 of the middle period. Freshman
Maddie Hartman tossed a shot at the net from the right point, which was deflected in the slot by sophomore
Shelby Herrington. Savage stayed with the play and swatted home the rebound at the left of the net.
• Hartman made it 5-0 at 2:18 of the third period when her point-shot took a deflection and skipped into the net following a feed from Masters.
• Vermont responded to spoil the shutout just over three minutes later when Alyssa Gorecki skated in and roofed a backhand at 5:31 of the final frame.Â
