BROOKLINE, Mass. – Dan Munch's first collegiate goal during the 77th minute of Tuesday night's Boston derby at Parsons Field brought the Northeastern men's soccer team level with Boston University at one goal apiece and helped put the Huskies on track to earning their first point against the Terriers during the last four series meetings.

NU goalkeeper Noah Abrams debuted in the Huskies' starting XI, recording five saves, none more important than his one-on-one stop against Maxwell Aunger during the 109th minute that secured the draw.

Northeastern (2-10-3) outgained BU in shots both (15-14) and corners (6-2) on Tuesday night. Khori Bennett led the Huskies with four attempts, striking a shot on target during the 62nd minute. Harry Swartz finished with three attempts and was also one of the six NU players to accumulate a shot on goal.

Boston University (5-7-2) took the lead late during the first half, jumping in front during the 37th minute on Matt McDonnell's fourth goal of the season.

Bennett and Lewis Aird both assisted on Munch's 77th-minute equalizer. Bennett notched his first point of the season, while Aird charted his team leading, fourth assist of 2017. Munch's goal went down as the rookie's first during 14 appearances at Northeastern and also boosted his season point tally to three, having previously assisted on Moustapha Samb's Sept. 13 goal at Harvard.

The Terriers' goalkeeper, Bjorn Kammholz, matched Abrams with five saves.

With the win, Northeastern's overtime record incremented to 2-2-3 during the 2017 season.

GOAL RECAPS

• Boston University (37th minute): Maxwell Aunger played a shallow throw-in to Matt McDonnell from three strides inside the Terriers' left flag. McDonnell took control and navigated around four Northeastern defenders on his way along the left end line, sneaking a shot through Noah Abrams' right shoulder and the left post.

• Northeastern (77th minute): Hugging the left sideline, Lewis Aird skied a cross from the edge of the Huskies' attacking third to Khori Bennett at the right corner of the 18-yard box. Bennett played his second touch forward to the charging Dan Munch, who struck a right-footed shot on his first touch past the diving Bjorn Kammholz to level the match at 1-1.

BEST NU CHANCES

• 49th minute: Exiting the locker room a goal down, Northeastern beefed up its attack to hone in on the match's equalizer. Receiving his first career start at right back, Adama Kaba made a right-to-left run through the midfield, unleashing a right-footed shot that was saved by Bjorn Kammholz.

• 75th minute: After a wonderful tackle by Dan Munch in the backfield to disrupt the Terriers' counter, the Huskies staged one of their own, moving up the left sideline. Munch rejoined the attack near the edge of Northeastern's box, where he was taken down after feeding Lewis Aird in the left corner, resulting in NU winning advantage. Aird's cross into the box was headed out by the Terriers to Khori Bennett, who had his right-footed shot blocked ever-so slightly over the crossbar.
