Goal Recaps
• Providence struck first just 1:26 into the game when Cassidy MacPherson found Maureen Murphy open at the top of the left circle for a shot that snuck inside the left post.
• The Friars doubled the lead at 16:18 of the opening frame when Chloe Gonsalves' shot from the left point whizzed through traffic and over the shoulder of
Brittany Bugalski (seven saves) to make it 2-0.
• Northeastern cut the deficit in half just 17 seconds later.
Denisa Krizova poked a loose puck to
Veronika Pettey, who quickly shifted it to
McKenna Brand between the circles. Brand cut to her left and ripped a twisted wrister into the upper right corner of the net at 16:35.

• PC pushed the lead to 4-1 with a power-play goal at 14:55 of the second stanza when Christina Putigna wristed a shot past freshman netminder
Aerin Frankel, through traffic, from the right faceoff dot.
• The Huskies again whittled away at the scoreline when Anderson scored the first of two straight power-play goals early in the third period. After taking a feed from
Lauren Kelly in the left corner, Anderson wheeled into the high slot and wristed a shot inside the left post from between the circles to make it 4-2.
• Anderson struck again at 9:12, again on the power-play, when she collected a rebound off a Kelly shot, and tucked it past PC netminder Madison Myers (38 saves) to cut the Providence lead to 4-3.
• The Friars responded at 14:08 of the third period when Boquist snapped a shot by Frankel from between the circles to push the score to 5-3.
• Northeastern made it 5-4 just 1:38 later when
Skylar Fontaine went coast-to-coast, before firing a shot by Myers from the left circle at 15:46.
• With the NU net empty in the final seconds, Providence tacked on an insurance tally when Madison Sansone fluttered a shot into the cage from center ice to seal the win with two seconds showing on the third period clock.
