CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. – Northeastern junior Alyssa Seales capped off another successful season today at the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships. Seales competed in the one-meter event where she placed 41st overall and 5th among CAA divers with a score of 205.65.

The top 18 divers in the preliminary round advanced to finals where the top five received automatic bids to the NCAA Championships late next week. Olivia Lehman was the sole CAA diver to advance to any final during the Zone competition, qualifying in fourth place on the one-meter board. Addison Walkowiak of Rutgers again claimed the top spot heading into finals and was joined by athletes from 11 different institutions that contended for a trip to Indianapolis.

Seales is fresh off her first career podium finish in the three-meter event and a sixth place finish in the one-meter event at the 2017 CAA Championships. This season, Seales earned 11 first place finishes, seven second place finishes and two third and fourth place finishes. She contributed 189 total points during the regular season, good for third highest on the team, and added 29 at the CAA Championship meet, the third highest scoring Husky behind swimmers Megan Clark (32) and Carly Schnabel (30). Seales notched her season high on the one-meter board at the Frank Elm Invitational with a score of 276.25, which qualified her for Zones. On the three-meter board, Seales hit a team-leading season high of 275.85 against Vermont in January.
