Northeastern is also excited to announce the debut of the Howlin' Huskies Cam for the November 1 men's hockey game against rival Boston University.
The five-episode all-access series, produced by Beatt Productions in association with Howlin' Huskies Productions, will air throughout the 2018-19 season and give viewers an unprecedented look at Northeastern Athletics, both on and off the playing field.
"This is yet another exciting and innovative improvement for our athletics department," said
Tim Duncan, Deputy Athletic Director, on Wednesday. "We believe that the original content created here, in written, graphic design and video form, will shine a bright light on the vast accomplishments of our talented and dedicated student-athletes and teams."
With the Howlin' Huskies Cam, fans will now have the chance to capture their memories at Matthews Arena utilizing fan-controlled cameras to take game-day photos from their seats at one of the world's most iconic sports venues, making the Huskies the first NCAA school to provide this innovative experience to their fans.
"We're thrilled to be the first school in the NCAA to utilize this innovative technology," said Duncan. "We couldn't be more excited to get started and provide our fans with this unique opportunity to help us better connect with them at the moment of excitement for all games at Matthews Arena."
To take the photo, fans tap in their seat number into a mobile web page, a robotic camera pivots to find them, where fans can see themselves on their phone. They then have 30 seconds to pinch and zoom to get everyone in the shot. A branded overlay is added to the photo, and can be shared on the fan's social media.
