Buffalo, N.Y. -- Amid the snowfall and cold temperatures, the Northeastern cross-country team raced at the 2018 NCAA Northeast Regionals on Friday afternoon, finishing in 10th place for the men and 17th for the women.
The men's 10th place finish was their highest in Northeastern history, and it was the first time the program had three top-30 finishers. Among the three were
Dan Romano in 19th place with a 10k time of 33:32.8,
Cameron Dickson (33:41.6) in 27th and
Alexander Korczynski (33:42.9) in 30th as the second best rookie finish in program history.
With a top-25 finish, Romano is the third male cross-country runner to earn an NCAA All-Region Award in program history and ranks second for an individual finish at the Northeast Regionals.
On the women's side,
Louiza Wise took control, finishing the 6k course in 23:15.5.
Despite the unfortunate weather, the Howlin' Huskies persisted to improve off of their 2017 results, with the men moving up 15 places and the women moving up eight.
