CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. – Megan Clark and
Matilda Weiler led the way for the Huskies on the second day of competition at the 2018 Colonial Athletic Association Championships on Thursday.  Â

Through 16 events, Northeastern sits in fourth place with 196 points, just 13 points behind Towson in third place.
Â
Matilda Weiler became the first Husky to win the 200 individual medley at the CAA Championships. The freshman set a new program record with a time of 2:00.83, breaking the record from the 2015 CAA Championships.

Megan Clark captured the gold medal in the 50 freestyle, setting a new Northeastern record in the event. In the preliminaries, the Virginia native broke her own school record from earlier this season with a time of 22.48.

Clark then went to swim 22.38 in the final to earn the program's first CAA gold in the 50 freestyle.Â

The Huskies set a new school record in the 200 freestyle relay on their way to second place. The relay team of Clark,
Lena Spear,
Sidney Smith and Weiler secured the silver medal with a time of 1:32.00.

On the diving side, five Huskies advanced to the three-meter finals.
Jacquelyn Gover took fourth place with a season-best score, 273.00.
Alyssa Seales and
Caroline Gonsalves earned seventh and eighth place, respectively.
Sabrina Chan finished 10th, and
Mackenzie Hagist placed 16th.
