Fall Schedule
BOSTON – Northeastern Athletics and NESN announced Tuesday the television programming schedule for the Huskies' fall sports, which includes seven games, beginning on September 9 when the Howlin' Huskies women's soccer team hosts New Hampshire at Parsons Field.
The fall slate includes Northeastern men's soccer, women's soccer and field hockey games on NESN and NESNplus. The entire schedule can be seen below. Additional televised games for Northeastern's winter sports, including basketball and ice hockey, will be announced soon.
The programming schedule comes as part of an enhanced broadcasting partnership between Northeastern and NESN, announced over the summer, to bring the Huskies into the homes of fans across New England.
"NESN is the preeminent regional television network in the nation, and we are thrilled to partner with the leader in the industry moving forward," said athletic director
Jeff Konya. "Content is the new currency in intercollegiate athletics, and we're very excited for the opportunity to further extend the Northeastern brand throughout New England by utilizing NESN's unparalleled reach. All of our games will be handled in-house by our immensely talented video production team, which will provide viewers with a first-class production of the highest quality from start to finish."
The agreement with NESN includes up to 75 games shown exclusively on NESN and NESNplus in New England, a dramatic expansion from 18 games in 2017-18. The games, which will also be available on NESNgo the network's streaming service, extends to other sports beyond Northeastern basketball and ice hockey and also includes original programming.
"We are excited to partner with Northeastern to showcase a wide variety of live events this year," said Sean McGrail, NESN's President and CEO. "
Jeff Konya and the entire Northeastern athletic department have made an impressive commitment to providing their fans with more opportunities to watch the Huskies."
