Two top-10 finishes highlight New Englands

The men's squad finished in second place for the second-straight season

BOSTON
— The Northeastern men's cross country team earned a runner up spot while on the women's side the Huskies took 10th in the 2019 NEICAAA Cross Country Championship Meet Saturday afternoon at Franklin Park. 
 
Alexander Korczynski made the podium coming across the line second overall with a time of 24:45.2, in some wet conditions while Cameron Dickson joined him in the top-10 with a seventh place finish, crossing the line in 24:55.7. 
 
The men's team finished with an average time of 25:13 in the 8k as Steven Flanagan (15th, 25:18.9), Patrick Mullen (22nd, 25:29.9), Eric Clay (29th, 25:39.4), Brian Keller (33rd, 25:47.4) and Luke Novak (38th, 25:53.1) rounded out the pack propelling the team to its second place finish. The second place result matched last season's finish on the men's side. 
 
On the women's side, the Huskies were paced by Louiza Wise who finished in 18:10.6, the 11th fastest time in program history en route to her 10th place finish. 
 
The women's team finished with an average time of 19:10 in the 5k race as Madison Neuner (43rd, 18:57.6), Juliet Bussel (69th, 19:24.5), Grace Bugara (76th, 19:29.5), Kelsey Walak (89th, 19:50.3), and Claire Chapeau (100th, 20:02.2) wrapped up the finishers. 
 
UP NEXT
Both squads have next weekend off as they tune up for the CCSU Mini Meet on Friday, Oct. 25.
