ELON, N.C.— Despite a late push led by redshirt-freshman forward
Timothy Ennin, the Northeastern men's soccer team fell to the Elon Phoenix, 3-1, on Saturday night at Rudd Field.

Ennin had the lone goal for the Huskies in the 77th minute as
Bernardo Gracindo served a perfect corner kick onto Ennin's waiting head. Ennin now has five goals on the season to lead the Huskies.

The late goal from Ennin cut the deficit for Northeastern (5-6-3, 2-2-2 CAA) to 3-1 as Elon (6-7-1, 1-5-0 CAA) scored early in the 7th minute of action and then two in the second half.

Despite the score line, defender
Grant Elgin had a strong performance for the Huskies as well as goalkeeper
Noah Abrams who finished with four saves. Elgin ended his compelling night with a goal line clearance in the final minutes of the match.

Liam Murphy led the Huskies with three shots on the evening. The Huskies held the 4-2 edge in saves over the Phoenix and a 6-4 edge in corner kicks.
