HEMPSTEAD, N.Y.— Despite a 18-9 lead in shots and a goal from
Kayla McCauley the fourth-seeded Northeastern women's soccer team fell to the fifth-seeded Elon Phoenix, 2-1, in the CAA quarterfinals.

McCauley scored her third goal of the season in the 63rd minute to tie up the game at 1-1 after Elon (12-5-2, 5-3-1) took an early 1-0 lead in the seventh minute of action. McCauley's goal came after
Chelsea Domond's shot was tipped up to the crossbar, the Huskies had four shots that hit the post throughout the game.

McCauley led all Huskies with four shots, while
Kerri Zerfoss and Domond each had three, as Northeastern (8-10-1, 5-3-1 CAA) led in shots on goal 10-3. Northeastern also held the 6-0 edge in corners over the Phoenix.
