CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Despite having seven power-play opportunities and 34 shots on goal, the No. 3 Northeastern women's hockey team was defeated by No. 8 Boston College, 4-1, in the Beanpot Consolation Game on Tuesday at Bright-Landry Center.
Sophomore
Veronika Pettey scored for the third straight game for the Huskies (21-4-4), who were held to a single goal for the first time this season.
Daryl Watts led BC (21-10-0) with two goals, including the eventual game-winner early in the second period, and Megan Keller and Kelly Browne also found the net as the Eagles threw 47 shots at the NU cage.
Sophomore
Aerin Frankel managed to keep out 43 of those shots for her second-highest save total of the season (46 vs. BC on Nov. 27).
Special teams played a big factor in the game as BC negated all seven Northeastern power-plays on the night, including four in the second period.
The Huskies are back in action this weekend against Providence for a home-and-home series beginning Saturday at Schneider Arena at 2 p.m.
