STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The Northeastern women's soccer team took the 2019 season opener against Stony Brook to overtime, but ultimately fell, 2-1, to the Seawolves on a sudden death strike in the 91st minute.

The Huskies (0-1-0) jumped out to an early 1-0 lead, courtesy of a goal from junior forward Chelsea Domond in the sixth minute.  The Seawolves (1-0-0) evened the score, 1-1, just seven minutes later off a goal from Chelsie DePonte.

The Huskies held a 17-7 shot margin over Stony Brook, but it was once again DePonte who found the back of the net in the 91st minute to seal the Seawolves' victory.
