Evangelista leads Huskies to win over Albany

BROOKLINE, Mass.— The Northeastern women's soccer team claimed its first win of the season over Albany, 1-0, off a goal from senior captain Emily Evangelista in the 81st minute.
 
Evangelista's goal was a beautiful strike off a pass from freshman Halle McCabe. McCabe collected her first ever career assist off the pass.
 
Northeastern's (1-1-0) defense was locked in all game against the Great Danes (0-2-0), with sophomore goalkeeper Megan Adams securing her first clean sheet of the season to pair with three saves.
 
The Huskies held a 12-10 advantage in shots and a 4-3 margin in shots on goal.
 
UP NEXT
Northeastern will play in the second match of a doubleheader with the men's soccer team on Friday, Aug. 30 at 5:30 p.m. against Harvard at Parsons Field.
