BROOKLINE, Mass. – Receiving two goals from birthday boy Ryan Massoud into and out of halftime on Saturday, the Northeastern men's soccer team successfully clawed back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Delaware and earn a key CAA point at Parsons Field.

After conceding to the Blue Hens twice during the opening half hour, Northeastern (2-2-1, 1-0-1 CAA) began chipping away during the 41st minute, when Timothy Ennin won the Huskies the ball outside the midfield circle. Ennin triggered the NU counter and played a lead pass to Massoud, who nutmegged Renan Thomazo to halve the score at 2-1.

Exiting halftime, Massoud and the Huskies needed less than five minutes to equalize. Dan Munch dribbled along the right sideline before directing his right-footed cross to the back post, where Massoud dove and headed in his third goal of the week.

Delaware (1-1-1, 0-0-1 CAA) had capitalized on a pair of NU miscues to stake its early, 2-0 advantage. Adama Kaba committed the penalty that led to Timo Hummrich's go-ahead strike during the 21st minute while Noah Abrams's bobble in goal during the 28th minute allowed Alvin Halley to set up Rex Twum for an easy finish.

Despite the Blue Hens racking up the 6-2 edge in attempts and 3-0 margin in corners during the first half, Northeastern established the better attacking form as the match progressed. NU won five corners after halftime to Delaware's one and forced Thomazo into making two saves.

Chandler Cree recorded his lone save of the match during the 58th minute, reaching at full extension to deny David Vavrous.
