Men’s soccer shuts out Holy Cross in 2-0 win

WORCESTER, Mass.— Scoring twice in the second half of a 2-0 shutout win over Holy Cross, the Northeastern men's soccer team picked up its third win in four games on Tuesday night at the Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium. 
 
Heading into halftime, Northeastern (3-2-1, 1-0-1 CAA) and Holy Cross (0-5-0) were locked in a scoreless defensive battle. The Huskies held the Crusaders to just one shot in the first half and zero shots on goal.
 
Timothy Ennin broke the scoring drought of the first half just nine minutes into the second as the first goal of his career put Northeastern ahead 1-0. Jack Monte tapped Grant Elgin's throw in to Ennin for the goal and both were credited with assists. 
 
Alec Supinski put the Huskies up by two with his first goal of the season in the 83rd minute off an Aiman Ginawi assist. 
 
Chandler Cree made his second start of the season for Northeastern earning his first win as the Crusaders were held to just three shots and zero shots on goal during the match.

Northeastern will be back at Parsons Field on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 5 p.m. against CAA opponent Charleston.
