Yale outlasts Northeastern in double overtime

BROOKLINE, Mass.— The Northeastern women's soccer team fell to Yale, 2-1, as the Bulldogs found the back of the net in the 105th minute of double overtime.
 
Despite Northeastern (3-5-0) holding a 6-3 advantage in shots, Yale (5-2-0) struck first as Sarah Jordan headed in a cross from Chloe Laureano in the 33rd minute to put the Bulldogs up 1-0.
 
In the second half, Chelsea Domond evened the score for the Huskies as she fired a rocket from outside the box off a Katarina Nilsson assist. Goalkeeper Megan Adams came up huge in the 81st minute for the Huskies to help push Northeastern to overtime.
 
As the second period ended, Northeastern headed to its third overtime game in a row. In double overtime, Lydia Shaw found the back of the net in the 105th minute to give the Bulldogs a 2-1 win.
