PHILADELPHIA – The Northeastern men's soccer team claimed its first victory of the 2019 season in the CAA opener against Drexel, defeating the Dragons, 2-1. Junior
Dan Munch led the way for the Huskies, tallying an assist and a goal on the evening.

Northeastern (1-2-0, 1-0-0 CAA) and Drexel (0-3-0, 0-1-0 CAA) entered halftime scoreless, but the Huskies found the back of the net early in the second half and never looked back.

Sophomore
Jack Monte put the Huskies on the board first in the 52nd minute, with Munch assisting on the goal. Monte's first career goal came off a rebound off the crossbar inside the six-yard box.

Munch got his own goal just seven minutes later for Northeastern, finishing a set piece from near midfield. Freshman
Bernardo Gracindo was credited with his first career assist on the goal.

Drexel was able to cut the Huskies lead in half, with Kwesi Allen converting a penalty kick in the 76th minute, but the Huskies were able to hang on for the win.

Junior
Noah Abrams, claimed his first win of the season in the victory, and matched a career high with five saves on the night.
