No. 3 Huskies skate past BC, 3-0

BOSTON— Powered by two power play goals in the third period and a two-point performance from Skylar Fontaine, the No. 3 Northeastern women's hockey team skated past Boston College, 3-0, on Sunday afternoon at Matthews Arena.

With the shutout victory, the Huskies swept the three-game Hockey East series against the Eagles, with goaltender Aerin Frankel earning all three shutouts. Frankel notched 25 saves against Boston College (11-9-2, 10-7-1 HEAW) on Sunday, to earn her sixth shutout of the year and 15th of her career. With her 15th career shutout Frankel now moves into a tie with Patti Hunt (1982-86) for third overall in career shutouts at Northeastern.

Matti Hartman opened the scoring for Northeastern (17-3-1, 14-2-0 HEAW) with a strike just 1:15 into the game. The Eagles and Huskies were held scoreless through the second and then Katy Knoll broke through the scoring drought, with a power-play goal just 10 seconds into the final frame.

Fontaine closed out the scoring for the Huskies with another power-play goal at the 4:51 mark in the third period. BC's goaltender Kelly Pickreign finished the game with 32 saves.
