Northeastern Concludes Day One of Husky Virtual Invitational

DAY 1 RESULTS

BOSTON -
Grace Miller clocked a season-best time of 4:58.59 in the 500-yard freestyle to lead the Northeastern women's swimming and diving team at the Husky Virtual Invitational on Friday inside Barletta Natatorium. Miller, a freshman from Morristown, N.J., tallied the third-fastest time in mid-major swimming this season and the 56th-best time in the NCAA.

Matilda Weiler and Bailey Klafehn came out on top in their respective events earning top marks on the season-best list. Weiler swam a season-best time of 2:09.57 in the 200 IM and Klafehn tallied a season-best time of 24.39 in the 50 free. The 50 butterfly turned out to be one of the best races of the day as Nikita Pelletier (26.19) edged teammate Sofia Long (26.61).

In the 50 breaststroke, Victoria Austin touched the wall in 30.69, just ahead of Lena Wang's time of 30.74. Finishing third for the Huskies was Alicia Iizuka with a time of 31.10.

The Huskies will be back at it again on Saturday for day two of the Husky Virtual Invitational at Noon with 3-meter diving, and swimming at 3 p.m. The meet will be streamed on Howlin' Huskies Productions available on NUHuskies.com/Watch.
