LOWELL, Mass.—Tyler Madden tallied his 19
th of the season,
Ryan Shea put in his 5
th and
Grant Jozefek added his 8
th as the No. 12 Huskies (16-8-3, 9-7-1 Hockey East) roll to a big 3-0 opening home-and-home series win over the No. 11 River Hawks (15-8-5, 9-5-4 Hockey East) at Tsongas Center in Lowell.
Madden has points in ten straight and added another power play goal to his resume while
Zach Solow picked up an assist to extend his point streak to five in a row.
Neil Shea also added a helper as did
Ryan Shea.
Craig Pantano stopped 24 pucks including a ridiculous diving save on the way to his second shutout of the season.
The Huskies are currently in playoff position in Hockey East and have two games in hand on New Hampshire and Providence who also have 19 points.
