BOSTON -Â Â Northeastern forward
Tyler Madden has signed a three-year entry-level deal with the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League to forgo his final two seasons with the Huskies, announced by the organization on Monday. The third-round draft pick put up a career-high 19 goals and 18 assists in 27 games this season.

Jim Madigan. "From the minute he stepped on campus as a freshman, he conducted himself as a true professional, on and off the ice, and was a valuable teammate. He helped take our program to unprecedented heights, and his shoes will be difficult to fill, but we are excited for him to take the next step in his hockey career and we wish him and his family nothing but the best."
Madden was one of the most prolific scorers in the country this season. He ranked second in Hockey East and fifth in the country with 1.37 points per game, and was No. 3 in the NCAA with 0.70 goals per game. The sophomore finished the season on a 10-game point streak, and earned Hockey East All-Star First-Team honors. Madden tallied a goal and an assist to help the Huskies win their third consecutive Beanpot Championship for the first time in program history, and was a semifinalist for the Walter Brown Award, given to the top American-born player in New England.
The Kings product had three multi-goal games this past season, including his first career hat trick and a four-point night in a 5-2 win over Maine on Nov. 22, 2019. Madden put up one goal and two assists en route to helping Northeastern win its first-ever Friendship Four at the Belpot in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Madden is the son of John Madden, a three-time Stanley Cup winner who played in 898 NHL games, recording 165 goals and 340 points.
Eight former Huskies have seen time in the NHL this season with six being on opening night rosters.
