READING ROYALS' RELEASE
BOSTON -Â Â Northeastern's
Brendan van Riemsdyk has signed a contract with the Reading Royals (Philadelphia Flyers) of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL), announced by the organization. The graduate transfer had two goals and four assists in 33 games for the Huskies last season, including the game-winning goal against Harvard in the Beanpot semifinal game.
"Brendan was a terrific addition to the Northeastern family last season," said Fernie Flaman Head Men's Hockey CoachÂ

van Riemsdyk transferred after three seasons from New Hampshire and ended his Hockey East career with 22 goals and 27 assists over 142 games. The sports leadership major made the Hockey East All-Academic Team all four years in college, earned CoSIDA Academic All-District first team honors and is a Krampade/AHCA Academic All-Star this past season.
"I'm excited to continue my playing career with Reading," van Riemsdyk said. "It's an organization that's proven they can send guys to the next level."
