Struble and Colangelo Invited to U.S. National Junior Team Evaluation Camp

USA HOCKEY PRESS RELEASE

BOSTON
— Northeastern's Jayden Struble and Sam Colangelo have been invited to the 2021 U.S. National Junior Team Evaluation Camp at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan held from October 8-13. The camp is used to evaluate players that will be chosen for the 2021 U.S. National Junior Team which will play in the International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship from December 25-January 5, 2021.

Struble is entering his sophomore season with the Huskies after putting up three goals with seven assists in 21 games last season. The Rhode Island native was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in the second round of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft and made big contributions right off the bat with an assist and a goal in the 2019 Friendship Four tournament helping the Huskies win their first Belpot.

Colangelo is heading into his freshman year with the Huskies and is projected to be a high draft pick in next week's 2020 NHL Entry Draft. The forward played 55 games for the USHL Chicago Steel the last two seasons putting up 31 goals and 30 assists including 58 points last season alone. The Massachusetts native is looking to compete right away for playing time as the Huskies look for their fourth straight Beanpot Championship.

Both were invited to the 2020 World Junior Summer Showcase earlier this year that was canceled due to COVID-19.

Defenseman Jordan Harris and Associate Head Coach Jerry Keefe were on the 2020 U.S. National Junior Team. Keefe was also an assistant coach on the 2019 silver medalist winning U.S. National Junior Team with Northeastern alums Cayden Primeau (Canadiens) and Tyler Madden (Kings).
